FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about QR codes in one place.

Are QR codes completely free?

Yes! Our basic QR code generator is 100% free and codes never expire. There are no hidden scan limits or forced ads on generated QR codes.

What is a Dynamic QR code?

A Dynamic QR code allows you to change the destination URL at any time without having to reprint the code. It is highly recommended for marketing, packaging, and businesses.

Can I track how many times my QR code gets scanned?

Yes, if you use a Dynamic QR code, we track detailed analytics including scan count, location, operating system, and device type in real-time.

Do QR codes ever expire?

Static QR codes never expire. Dynamic QR codes require an active account to manage their destination, but the underlying QR pattern does not expire.

Why is my QR code not scanning?

This is usually caused by low contrast (e.g., yellow code on a white background), a QR code that is too small, or a logo that covers too much of the data pattern.

Can I edit the destination of my QR code?

Only if you use a Dynamic QR code. Static QR codes have the data hardcoded in the pattern, so they cannot be changed after printing. Dynamic codes use a redirect link that can be updated anytime.

How much data can a QR code hold?

A standard QR code can store up to 4,296 alphanumeric characters or 7,089 numeric characters. However, for better scanability, it's recommended to keep the data as concise as possible.

Are QR codes safe to scan?

Generally, yes. However, a QR code can link to a malicious website. Always ensure you trust the source of the QR code before scanning, especially if it's asking for personal information.

Can I add a logo to my QR code?

Yes! Our generator allows you to upload a logo. QR codes have built-in error correction, which means they can still be scanned even if part of the code (up to 30%) is covered by a logo.
